DAYTON, Ohio – The Oakland women's soccer team dropped Saturday's road match to Wright State, 1-0 from Alumni Field at Rinzler Student Sports Complex.
The Golden Grizzlies move to 3-5-4 on the year and 1-1-2 in conference play.
Wright State (5-4-2, 3-1 HL) struck right before halftime, scoring the lone goal of the game at the 40:35 mark.
Despite outshooting the Raiders, 14-11 with seven shots coming on goal, Oakland was unable to find the back of the net.
Lorelai Miller led the Golden Grizzlies in shots, tallying three on the day.
Julia Zangerl played all 90 minutes in goal, recording three saves.
Oakland returns home Oct. 5 to take on Robert Morris from the Oakland Soccer Field for its Kick Cancer Away game. The Golden Grizzlies have teamed up with Vs. Cancer, a signature fundraising campaign of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, to give children battling cancer a healthier and happier future.
