ROCHESTER, Mich. – Owen Smith scored the game winning goal off the assist from
Nour Aoude as the Golden Grizzlies defeated Milwaukee, 2-1 Saturday afternoon from the Oakland Soccer Field.
Milwaukee struck first, finding the back of the net less than three minutes into the game.
Mikey Ketteman evened things back up in the 28' minute with his fourth goal of the year off a perfectly played ball from
Donavan Phillip.
Luke Benford was also credited with an assist on the play.
Smith's goal marks his second-straight game with a goal, his third on the year.
Michael Sly Jr. had nine saves on the day including a big one down the stretch with less than three minutes remaining to secure Oakland's win.
Oakland will hit the road for a conference match-up against Purdue Fort Wayne Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m.
