Golden Grizzlies End 90 Minutes in 2-2 Tie with Illinois State

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Oakland University Women's Soccer (1-3-2) tied with Illinois State University 2-2 at Adelaide Street Field for the second-straight tie against a prairie state team for the Golden Grizzlies.

It took two minutes for Illinois State (0-3-1) to score the first goal of the game before Frankie Mudd notched her first goal of the 2023 regular season via an assist from Grace Sampson for the tying goal at the 50' mark in the second half.

The Redbirds responded around nine minutes later to go up 2-1 in the second half where freshman Melaina Troy (with the help of Putri Sazali) used her boot to tie the winless Redbirds with 20 minutes or so to go in regulation.

With the scoreboard in Bloomington-Normal reading 2-2, time expired on the campus of Illinois State for the tie.
