ROCHESTER, Mich. – On Sunday, September 3, Oakland University Women's Soccer will take the pitch in Bloomington, Illinois to seek a win against the Redbirds of host Illinois State University at 3:00 p.m. on ESPN+.

After suffering a 6-0 defeat to Ohio State University on Thursday night, Oakland (1-3-1) looks to rebound from a stout second-half offensive effort during the loss in which six different Golden Grizzlies were able to fire off seven shots.

Macey Wierenga and Anuhea Aluli have the two goals for the team so far in the young season while newcomer Frankie Mudd posts a team-high four shots off her boot with Shannon Brown just behind with three.

Julia Zangerl has three starts to her credit while Hayley Lindow has appeared in approximately three contests with the former of the two facing 44 total shots and 10 saves. Lindow has the current team-high in saves with 12. 

The Golden Grizzlies will return home for its next contest on Thursday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m. for a showdown with in-state opponent Western Michigan University.

SCOUTING THE REDBIRDS

With senior day on the horizon, Illinois State (0-3-0) fell 3-0 in their home opener to the University of North Dakota though outshooting the Fighting Hawks 10-9 through 90 minutes of play.

Julia Ligoure has the team's only goal of the season which naturally leads the team with two points to her credit off five shots. Jade Rehberger has two shots on goal while Kelsi McLaughlin has had four threatening attempts.

Audrey Brown has made 15 saves through the team's three games with nine goals allowed in 49 shots faced.

Illinois State will travel a short distance to Charleston, Illinois for a matchup with Eastern Illinois University on Thursday, September 7 for its next match.
