Preview: Oakland Prepped for Another B1G Road Tilt

ROCHESTER, Mich. – On Thursday, Oakland University Women's Soccer will take on Big Ten Conference opponent Ohio State University at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at 5:00 p.m.

Julia Zangerl held a shutout from Northern Illinois University from their ten shots on the road last Sunday in DeKalb, Illinois. Frankie Mudd had Oakland's (1-2-1) only shot that afternoon with Hannah Russell being the only Golden Grizzly along with Zangerl to play all 90 minutes. 

Macey Wierenga is still the team's leader in points with three after a goal and an assist earlier in the year off two shots. Anuhea Aluli sits at two with a single goal to her name. Mudd has a grand total of three shots on the year with lead the team while Putri Sazali has had two attempts.

Zangerl and Hayley Lindow have had an equal amount of playing time in these four short games with the latter of the two having 12 saves to Zangerl's five though the freshman from Austria has accounted for two shutouts.

After this game, Oakland will make the drive over to Bloomington, Illinois to fight Illinois State University on Sunday, September 3 at 2:00 p.m. 

SCOUTING THE BUCKEYES

The Buckeyes (1-2-1) are coming off a 2-2 tie after a big sky country road trip to the University of Montana in Missoula where Dakota Lyons and Amanda Schlueter held the lead over the Grizzlies before U of M hit the equalizer at the 58' mark.

Kailyn Dudukovich is leading the way with seven points on the scarlet and grey with three goals and an assist for seven points off 13 shots just ahead of Amanda Schlueter who has just three points off a goal and an assist.

Molly Pritchard has had the most playing time with 332 minutes between the pipes with 10 goals allowed and 10 saves in 50 shots faced. Peighton Northrup has also appeared in two games with a single save in the only shot she faced.

Following this game, Ohio State will battle the University of Ohio at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus on Thursday, September 7.
