Oakland Falls to No. 11 Marshall

HUNTINGTON, W.V. – On Thursday, Oakland University Men's Soccer fell 4-0 to No. 11 Marshall University on Hoops Family Field in the regular season opener.

It didn't take long for the home Thundering Herd to make waves with a quick 1-0 score just seven minutes in, getting another seven minutes later as the green and white went into the locker room up 2-0 at the half.

With a 20-3 shot advantage after the first 45 minutes, Marshall added two more in the second frame as the Golden Grizzlies were able to get a few more shots off via Owen Smith and Ville Ahola.

Oakland ran two keepers between the pipes in Alex Flowers and Michael Sly Jr. for a combined eight saves on the day after facing a grand total of 29 shots from the No. 11 team in the country.
