ANN ARBOR, Mich. – On Wednesday, Oakland University Softball suffered a five-inning, 13-0 loss to the University of Michigan at Alumni Field in Ann Arbor in the squad's final non-conference game of the 2023 season.

Jen Krizka singled through the left side of the Wolverines' defense in the top of the first while the Golden Grizzlies' fielding held through the next frame for a 0-0 ball game.

Michigan put seven on the board at the newly dubbed Hutchinson Stadium in the bottom of the second for a quick lead. Maci Brown planted a double into center field in the third as the final hit for Oakland. 

Between the next three innings for Michigan, the home maize and blue added six more runs for the five-inning win on their home diamond.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Mia Konyvka started in the circle with freshman Maraina Smith entering the game the last 2.2 innings
• Krizka and Brown had the team's only hits of the evening
• After a little shifting in the defense, Alexia Grammatico and Makayla Jauregui saw action in the field 

One final #HLSB series will be held May 5-6 at the OU Softball Field in Rochester for senior day before the doubleheader against Purdue Fort Wayne.
