Freshmen Power 1-0 Win Over Purdue Fort Wayne

ROCHESTER, Mich. – On Friday, Oakland University Softball outlasted the herd of Purdue Fort Wayne 1-0 in a defensive showcase at the OU Softball Field in the three-game, #HLSB series-opener.

The game glided along in a 1:20 timeframe with three up and down batters by both teams in the first inning in Rochester. Both teams received a hit in the second with the Mastodons poking a single to second base while the Golden Grizzlies' Allisa DiPrima answered with a double to left field.

Purdue Fort Wayne worked two-straight innings with runners in scoring position as Sydney Campbell and company chipped away outs with scoring threats in the infield, holding the game scoreless as the top of the fifth took the field.
