ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies completed the last day of a three-day CSCAA National Invitational Championship competition in Elkhart, Indiana, and they left with impressive times finishing fifth overall for the men's team with a final tally of 450, and a 16th place finish for the women's team with their final score of 197.
Oakland's Ben Davis opened the day up with an incredibly speedy second-place run in the men's 1000-yard freestyle swimming in at a time of (15:19.66).
Then the men's 100-yard IM was swam by Sam McKenzie in the A-Final with a time of (49.52). And going into the women's 100-yard IM, Jordyn Shipps secured an impressive time in the A-Final swimming in at (55.85).
Sofus Balladone clocked a time of (1:47.36) in the men's 200-yard backstroke in heat one, and alongside him were teammates Harry Nicholson (1:45.17) and Marko Khotynetskyi (1:45.17) in heat two.
Charlie Brown jumped in to showcase his skills in the men's 100-yard freestyle and finished with a time of (44.64) in the first heat, and McKenzie conquered the second heat with a time of (43.98).
Chris Palvadre then competed in the men's 200-yard breaststroke resulting in his fast time of (1:58.56) in the A-Final, and in the women's competition, Taylor Bailey punched a time of (2:15.58) in the B-Final.
And reaching into the last event of the night, the Oakland men's relay team competed in the 400-yard freestyle relay with an intense (2:52.70) time in the fifth heat of finals, and the women's relay team secured a time of (3:20.61).
