Golden Grizzlies Bring The Heat On Day Two of Weekend Competition

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland Swim and Dive jumped back into the water to finish day two of competition at the CSCAA NIC Championships resulting in a current fourth place ranking for the men sitting at 308 points, and a 17th place ranking for the women sitting at 126 points.

Right away the men secured the impressive second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay finishing at a time of (1:26.35) behind the speed of Marko Khotynetskyi, Christian Bart, Sofus Balladone, and Charlie Brown. Similarly, the women's team finished quickly with a time of 1:41.82 landing a 10th-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay behind the efforts of Jordyn Shipps, Taylor Bailey, Mia Keranen, and Sohvi Nenonen. 

Ian Allen finished 16th in the B final competition for the men's 400-yard IM with a time of (3:56.55). And in the B final competition for the men's 100-yard butterfly, we saw Sofus Balladone make his 19th-place finish in a time of (48.09).

Shipps then roped in a remarkable third-place finish in the women's 100-yard butterfly with a time of (53.78). 

Jonas Cantrell took the eighth-place finish in the men's 200-yard freestyle at (1:36.64).

Following was Bart who climbed up to a third-place spot in the men's 100-yard breaststroke with a time of (53.64). Notably, Chris Palvadre landed in 17th place with a time of (54.19) in the event. 

Khotynetskyi returned to the pool to make his mark in the men's 100-yard backstroke slamming an incredible second-place finish with a time of (47.88) just less than a second behind Alex Bauch from Queens University who placed first. 

Lastly, the men's team dominated in the 800-yard freestyle relay finishing second in a time of (6:27.01) with Cantrell, Sam McKenzie, Harry Nicholson, and Khotynetskyi ending it off. 

Notably, the women's team made a 17th-place finish behind the speed of Shipps, Nenonen, Mia Englender, and Sam Thiessen with a time of (7:29.15).

The Golden Grizzlies resume the final day of competition on Saturday, March 11th.
