ROCHESTER, Mich. – With just three regular season games remaining, the Oakland volleyball team will host IUPUI Tuesday Nov. 7 at the OU Credit Union O'rena beginning at 6 p.m.
Oakland (16-11, 10-5 HL) is coming off a 3-2 win at Cleveland State, winning four of its last five matches and currently sitting in fourth in the Horizon League standings.
Friday's road win against the Vikings was the 10th Horizon League win of the season, Oakland's first 10-conference win season since 2017.
In the last meeting, the Golden Grizzlies defeated IUPUI in five sets behind 13 kills from
Gentry Brown.
Sarah Turner added 20 assists while
Emily Wichmann paced the Oakland defense with 24 digs.
Wichmann leads the conference in digs and currently sits second in the country with 560 (5.84/set). As a team, Oakland has recorded the most digs in the NCAA with 1,906 (17.65/set).
SCOUTING THE JAGUARS
Cleveland State (9-17, 3-12 HL) has lost seven of its last eight games, and most recently, a 3-2 loss at Youngstown State.
IUPUI's Morgan Ostrowski ranks third in Horizon League play in hitting percentage with .318.
As a team, the Jaguars have registered 179 aces on the year, averaging 1.75/set, good for third in the league. Last time the two squads met, IUPUI registered an impressive 15 service aces, tied for second most in the conference this season.
Oakland enters Tuesday's match with five-straight wins against the Jaguars and has not lost to IUPUI at home since 2018.
