"These women have endured so much both individually and as a group, and those battles and advesity has really modled each of them," said Oakland Head Coach
Paul Rice. "I am so proud of them all. We knew we had the deepest squad in the league, and that is what you need to win in this league... It's a special day and I'm very blessed to be on this journey with them all".
The Men's team also rose to the occasion with one of their best performances of the season, placing third in the men's 8K race. Oakland finished with five runners in the top 26, joining IUPUI and Youngstown State as the only teams to hit that mark.

"Our men continue to climb in this league, and a third place finish is what we were shooting for today. To be just 17 points out of second, with how talented those to ptwo teams were, is a really amazing accomplishment. Some of our guys ran their last league championship of their career today and they really laid it on the line for their team. I'm really proud of each and every one of these guys".
This was the perfect culmination to a successful season for both Golden Grizzlies teams, but it's not over yet. Catch both Golden Grizzlies teams at the NCAA Great Lakes Regionals for their official final meet of the year on Friday, Nov. 10 in Madison, Wisconsin.
