Women's Soccer Takes on Milwaukee in Critical Late-Season Match

Rochester, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies continue their end-of-season push as they host Milwaukee for Senior Day.

Oakland will celebrate their seniors, who have served as the leaders in the locker room, and on the field, for a team who has played inspired and with passion behind their soon to be graduated teammates.

Oakland is coming off a 0-0 tie against Green Bay, a game where the offense was scarce on both sides. The defense held strong as freshman goalkeeper secured eight saves, making sure Green Bay had no chance to take the lead.

Zengerl has been solid as a rock in goal, not allowing an opponent to score more than one goal in Oakland's past nine games. Oakland's offensive spark has been provided lately by sophomores Frankie Mudd and Anuhea Aluli. Both of the forwards scored in Oakland's victory against IUPUI, and while no shots found the back of the net against Green Bay, they were the key pieces to Oakland's second half resurgence in the game. Mudd ended the game with eight shots, many coming on solid strikes from outside the box looking to give Oakland momentum.

Oakland has not lost a contest in the month of October, going four straight matches without a losing effort. Their last loss was back on Sept. 30 against Wright State, where they fell 0-1.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS

Milwaukee is in sole possesion of first place in the Horizon League with a 9-2-4 overall record and hold the title of undefeated in conference play (6-0-2 HL). However, the Panthers have tied in their last two matches against Youngstown State (1-1) and IUPUI (2-2).

Milwaukee has the most goals scored (37) and assists (37) in the Horizon League. They also have the top goal scorer in the league, junior Kayla Rollins, who has 11 goals on the season, five ahead of the second place student-athletes in that category.

The offense seems to come and go as Rollins does, where in Milwaukee's last victory, Rollins scored a hat trick in 70 minutes played, leading the Pathers to a 5-0 victory against Purdue Fort Wayne.
