Rochester, Mich - The Golden Grizzlies are staying in top shape, throwing their names in the hat for the EMU Fall Classic on Friday Oct. 20.
Oakland has added the meet at the Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, MI. to their schedule, looking to stay competitive and in a rhythm as the season winds down.
Both Oakland's Men's and Women's teams faired well in the Pink Classic meet in Peoria, IL. last week. The women's team sped their way into fourth place among a massive pool of teams, with their top runner being Graduate Student
Grace Nolan who placed 26th overall with a time of 21:43.6. What earned Oakland their top five finish was their amount of high placing runners. Along with Nolan, senior
Maryam Sheena, junior
Erin Hegarty, and senior
Jennifer Ohlsson all placed top 55 in the meet.
On the men's side, they secured a 13th place finish, with graduate student
Yami Albrecht as their top runner, placing 39th in the field with a time of 25:03.5.Â
Oakland has shown to be a threat to finish in the top five in every meet they enter, and they look to carry the momentum from their last event and build upon it in this final tune-up before the Horizon League Championships on Saturday, Oct. 28 in Fairborn, Ohio, just over a week away.
