ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland volleyball team fell to first place Milwaukee, 25-18, 25-12, 25-9 on Friday night at the OU Credit Union O'rena on Alumnae Night.
Oakland (11-9, 5-3 Horizon League) struggled offensively, hitting at just a .021 clip, compared to an impressive .357 hitting from the Panthers. Milwaukee's hitting percentage ranks fifth highest in the Horizon League this season.
Libby Gentile had a team-high nine kills and hit .095 to lead the Golden Grizzlies in the match,
Ainsley Guse chipped in four kills.
Milwaukee (15-7, 7-1 Horizon League) had the edge in kills (40-23), aces (4-1), blocks (8-2), and digs (40-28).
Rachel Rossman and
Sarah Turner had 11 assists, while
Emily Wichmann tallied a team-best 13 digs.
The Golden Grizzlies welcome Green Bay to OU Credit Union O'rena on Saturday at 4 p.m. Saturday's match will be Oakland volleyball's senior day celebration. Oakland will honor
