XC Men Win Team Title at Mel Brodt Collegiate Open

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – On Friday, Oakland University Men's and Women's Cross Country finished the Mel Brodt Collegiate Open as the Golden Grizzlies men came away with the team victory. 

Adam Hill clocked a second-place time of 25:31.6 out of 45 harriers on the 8,000 kilometer course with Adam Jesse and Christian Collis not far behind in 25:53.9 and 25:59.2 in fifth and sixth, respectively. Yami Albrecht was next to cross the line in eighth at 26:04.0 as Tristan Brandenburg rounded out OU scorers in 13th with a time of 26:26.8.

Grace Nolan finished first for Oakland for the second time this season with a sixth-place finish out of 46 competitors on the 6,000 kilometer line in 22:14.3. Rachel Kempf and Ellie Voetberg clocked 16th and 17th-place performances, respectively, in 23:02.3 and 23:02.6. Finishing the scoring for the Golden Grizzlies were Erin Hegarty and Brooke Hinkelman in 22nd and 23rd for 23:30.7 and 23:32.4. 

The Golden Grizzlies' men put up a season-low 34 points on the board ahead of Central Michigan and Bowling Green State in second and third, respectively, with 57 and 60 points. On the women's side, Central Michigan won with a score of 27 as Eastern Michigan and Oakland trailed with 52 and 62 points, respectively.
