Golden Grizzlies and Broncos Draw in Kalamazoo

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland University Women's Soccer team had an intense match up against the Western Broncos this afternoon resulting in a 1-1 game, coming in on their fourth tie of the season.

The Golden Grizzlies attacked the Broncos strategically during the course of the game. Right away, Oakland started aggressive with four shots in only the first fifteen minutes of the first half with three shots by Alexa Sabbagh, and one initial shot by Jules Karkaba. With this continued momentum, they totaled seven shots in the first half alone, and then an additional five shots in the second half.

The Broncos only scored one goal on goalkeeper Hayley Lindow nearing the end of the second half at the 85:55 mark. However, the Golden Grizzlies quickly adjusted their strategy and shortly after, at the 87:15 mark, Oakland's Kendra Zak scored a goal to put the Golden Grizzlies back on the board. Additionally, Lindow recorded an impressive five saves during the course of the game, coming to a 80% save percentage for the season so far. Overall, Oakland continues to carry this competitive streak this season, especially by holding their opponent to a tie and adjusting to their approach.
