ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Oakland University Women's Soccer and Head Coach Jaun Pablo Favero have announced the addition of Alli Tefend to the roster for the 2022 campaign.
Â
"Allie's technical ability, work rate, and mental toughness are second to none. She gives our team another quality left-sided defender that adds depth and substance to our left flank," said Favero, "Her previous experience in the Horizon League means there will be a reduced learning curve for her and we couldn't be nore excited to welcome her back home to Michigan."
Â
Tefend spent her last two season with the UIC Flames out of Chicago, Illinois as the Lake Orion native played in 17 games last season in a blue and red jersey including the game against Oakland.
Â
Tefend joins a Golden Grizzlies squad who went 11-9-1 in 2021, making it all the way to the semifinals of the Horizon League #WSOC Tournament. Tefend is an experienced club athlete, competing with the Nationals Soccer Club as well as Motor City FC and Rebels FC.
Â
"We are excited to be able to add an alumna from Nationals Soccer Club as we have an excellent relationship with their staff," said Favro.
Â
The daughter of Kim and Michael Tefend, Allie chose Oakland for the coaches and players on the team, the atmosphere of OU, and a belief in success in a Golden Grizzlies uniform.
