KRIZKA GOES DEEP, CAMPBELL SETS CAREER-HIGH IN SATURDAY'S WIN

ROCHESTER, Mich. – A 4-0 win was the result of Oakland University Softball's home opener in the Metro Series with Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon at the Oakland Softball Field.

Jen Krizka planted her fourth homer of the season over the center field wall for a two-run score for Oakland to bring home Madison Jones with an RBI as the Golden Grizzlies would lead 2-0 at the conclusion of the first inning.

After giving up three hits in the top of the first, Sydney Campbell bagged three-straight swinging strikeouts as the LaGrange, Ohio native would start her career day, getting one more in the bottom of the third as the OU offense saw a lead-off triple from Maci Brown as Allisa DiPrima would bring her around with a single up the middle to lead 3-0.

The fourth, and final, score for Oakland started with Cammie Brummitt's single to left field as the pinch runner Arieanna Grammatico would advance to third off a fly out by Krizka and eventually headed across home plate from a sac fly by Shannon Carr

Campbell would go on to record seven more strikeouts against the Titans for a career-high 11 after the end of seven innings as Detroit Mercy wouldn't see more than a few runners in scoring position the rest of the way as the Golden Grizzlies advanced to 7-0 in conference play.
