Susan LaGrand finished her 2022 NCAA Championships outing on Saturday morning after competing in the 200 backstroke preliminaries in a time of 1:53.87.
laGrand's time was good for 26
th place, which unfortunately did not qualify her for the finals.
The Grand Rapids, Mich. native and three-time Horizon League Athlete of the Year and two-time Swimmer of the Meet qualified in the 200 back by setting a school record in 1:53.66, topping her previous record and last year's qualifying mark of 1:53.9.
LaGrand became the first woman in program history during the DI era to qualify for the NCAA Championships in consecutive seasons.
