ATLANTA – Susan LaGrand tied her school record setting time during the 100 backstroke trials touching the wall in 53.08 Friday morning at the NCAA championships from the McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech. 
 
LaGrand's trial time was good for 46th place overall. 
 
The senior swam in Thursday's 200 IM prelims, finishing in 1:57.84 (43^rd). 
 
LaGrand will compete in the 200 back, her final event of the 2022 NCAA Championships tomorrow with trials beginning at 10 a.m. Finals begin at 6 p.m.
 
LaGrand, the three-time Horizon League Athlete of the Year and two-time Swimmer of the Meet qualified in the 200 back by setting a school record in 1:53.66, topping her previous record and last year's qualifying mark of 1:53.9.

Saturday's trials and finals will broadcast on ESPN3.
