ROCHESTER, Mich. – Susan LaGrand will represent the Oakland women's swimming program at the 2022 NCAA Women's Championships March 16-19 in Atlanta at the McAuley Aquatic Center.
LaGrand, a senior from Grand Rapids, became the first woman in the DI era to qualify for the NCAA Championships in consecutive seasons. She will compete in the 200 backstroke and 200 IM.
LaGrand, the three-time Horizon League Athlete of the Year and two-time Swimmer of the Meet qualified in the 200 back by setting a school record in 1:53.66, topping her previous record and last year's qualifying mark of 1:53.9.
"It is a very different experience qualifying again rather than for the first time, but it is still just as thrilling," LaGrand said. "I am extremely excited to be able to represent Oakland at the national level once again."
ESPN3 will provide digital broadcast coverage for preliminary and finals sessions Wednesday through Saturday.
