ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland women's basketball team opens up the 2022 Keeps Horizon League Women's Basketball Championships Tuesday, March 1 as the no. 7 Golden Grizzlies host no. 10 Wright State beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the O'rena. Tuesday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+. 
 
Oakland (13-14, 11-9 HL) looks to defeat the reigning conference champions and get its first Horizon League Tournament win since the 2017-18 season, when the no. 7 Golden Grizzlies defeated no. 10 UIC, 80-56 in the first round from Little Caesars Arena. 

The Golden Grizzlies have topped the Raiders (4-22, 3-18 HL) in both meetings this season, including a 51-40 win in the regular season finale. Oakland held Wright State to just 40 points, the fewest by an opponent since December, 22 2017, defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 69-37. 

The last time out Sophomore Lamariyee Williams led the Golden Grizzlies with 11 points on 4-9 shooting. Williams was one rebound shy of a double-double, but added three steals and two assists. Breanne Beatty scored 10 points on 4-12 shooting, her sixth-straight game scoring double figures and 14th time on the year. Beatty also pulled down nine boards against the Raiders.
