LAS CRUCES, N.M. --The Oakland Golden Grizzlies struggled on Sunday, falling to the New Mexico State Aggies by final score of 14-2.
Senior Jake Wosinski (1-1) got the ball to start for Oakland (2-4) and took the loss.
Michael Stygles led the way offensively for the Golden Grizzlies, going 2-for-3 in the ballgame with an RBI. Brenton Phillips compiled a noteworthy performance as well, going 2-for-3. Ian Cleary also contributed, going 1-for-3 for Oakland with a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Grizzlies got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. Stygles' run-scoring single highlighted a two-run inning for Oakland. The Golden Grizzlies were unable to hold the lead, as New Mexico State scored 14 times over the remaining eight innings to grab the 14-2 win.
