ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland women's basketball team will welcome Cleveland State to the O'rena on Thursday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. and Purdue Fort Wayne Saturday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m. for the Golden Grizzlies' regular season home finale. Both games are sponsored by Hall Financial and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Oakland looks to bounce back after falling in back-to-back games against Green Bay and Milwaukee. Thursday's meeting against Cleveland State will serve as the first meeting between the two squads as the Jan. 8 game was slated as no contest. Cleveland State holds the overall advantage over the Golden Grizzlies going 12-4 and is currently on an eight-game win streak against Oakland.
Saturday's match-up against Purdue Fort Wayne marks senior day for five Golden Grizzlies including
Kahlaijah Dean,
Brianna Breedy,
Kayla Luchenbach,
Breanna Perry and
C'Erra Maholmes. Saturday's senior day celebration will take place following the game.
The Golden Grizzlies look to increase their win-streak to seven against PFW Saturday afternoon. Oakland hasn't fell to the Mastodons since 2013 and is 6-3 in its home court. In the last meeting, Oakland was down to just six players, overcoming a 16-point deficit and coming away with a 63-60 win on the road.
Oakland will close out the regular season on the road in a series against Northern Kentucky(2/24) and Wright State(2/26).
