ROCHESTER, Mich. – Breanne Beatty led the Golden Grizzlies 14 points Saturday afternoon, but it wasn't enough as the Oakland women's basketball team fell to Milwaukee 57-41 from the O'rena.
Oakland wasn't able to find much of an offensive rhythm throughout the game as its 41 points were the fewest the Golden Grizzlies have recorded on the year.
It marks the fourth time in five games Beatty has tallied a double-digit performance this season. The senior went 5-12 from the floor, adding four rebounds and two steals.
It was an even match-up throughout the first half, as Milwaukee held the slight 23-20 advantage at halftime.
The Panthers (11-13, 10-7) came out blazing in the third quarter, outscoring Oakland 22-9, and going an impressive 62 percent (8-13) from the floor, 3-6 from long range. Oakland struggled offensively, shooting just 21 percent (3-14) and went 1-5 from behind the arc.
The Golden Grizzlies weren't able to bounce back in the fourth quarter despite a 12-point effort from each side.
Kayla Luchenbach chipped in seven points while
C'Erra Maholmes added five.
Sydney Gouard led the Golden Grizzlies in rebounds, pulling down five.
The Oakland (11-12, 9-7 HL) women's basketball team returns home on Thursday, Feb. 17 welcoming the Vikings of Cleveland State. Thursday's game will air on ESPN+ and is presented by Hall Financial.
