INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Tallying 13 points and a career-best five assists in the Saturday, December 17 road victory over the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks, Oakland Golden Grizzlies point guard
Brooke Daniels was named the Nike #HLWBB Freshman of the Week on Monday, December 19.
Previously recognized on November 28, this is the second Nike #HLWBB Freshman of the Week Award for Daniels, making her the first Golden Grizzly to take home the honor multiple times in a campaign since Alona Blackwell did so three times in 2019-20.
Like teammate and junior forward
Alexis Johnson,
who was Monday's Nike #HLWBB Player of the Week, Daniels moved into the starting five in the November 27 win over the Stonehill Skyhawks and has become a fixture there since, scoring at least 10 points in four of the five games over this span.
Part of a balanced offensive attack, Daniels is fourth on the team and 9.1 points-per-game this season and leads Oakland with 22 assists.
The next chance for Golden Grizzly fan to see Daniels and Oakland at home will come on Monday when the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Madonna Crusaders visit at 7 p.m.
