INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Posting a career-high 25 points and seven rebounds in the Saturday, December 17 road victory over the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks, Oakland Golden Grizzlies junior forward Alexis Johnson earned her first Nike #HLWBB Player of the Week honor on Monday, December 19.

A native of Farmington Hills and a Marshall Thundering Herd transfer, Johnson is the first Golden Grizzly to claim a Nike #HLWBB Player of the Week Award since then-senior Kahlajiah Dean accomplished the feat just over a year ago on December 13, 2021.

After coming off the bench for the season's first five games, Johnson moved into the starting five in the November 27 win over the Stonehill Skyhawks and has remained there since, scoring in double figures twice over this span.

On the year, she paces Oakland is scoring at 11.1 points-per-game and is second on the team in rebounding at 4.8 per night, just behind senior Breanne Beatty's 4.9.

Johnson and the Golden Grizzlies will next be in action on Monday, December 19 when they play their first home contest since November 12 by welcoming in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Madonna Crusaders (1-12, 0-9 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference) at 7 p.m.
