2022-23 #HLMBB Preseason Poll and Teams Revealed on Wednesday

ROCHESTER, Mich. – On Wednesday, the Horizon League announced its 2022-23 #HLMBB Preseason Poll and Preseason All-League teams. 

The Golden Grizzlies were selected fourth out of 11 teams with 321 points and two first-place votes. Purdue Fort Wayne and Northern Kentucky were selected in a tie for first place with the Mastodons getting the edge with two more first-place votes than the Norse, 17 to 15, as each totaled 394 points, respectively. 

Wright State is just ahead of Oakland in third with 329 points while the Golden Grizzlies, fresh off a 20-12 overall record and a 12-7 #HLMBB mark, sit just above Youngstown State in fifth with 291 points and one first-place vote. 

Senior Jalen Moore is the lone Golden Grizzly on the preseason honors list as the Cloverdale native, and 2021-22 #HLMBB All-League Second Team honoree, is slated for an All-League First Team performance for the second year in a row.

Oakland will host Grand Valley State in an exhibition contest on Thursday, October 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Athletics Center O'rena in Rochester.
