Hoosier State Opponents in Town for Volleyball Tests

ROCHESTER, Mich. – This weekend in the Athletics Center O'rena, Oakland University Volleyball hosts IUPUI and Purdue Fort Wayne in Hoosier State tests.

Oakland split its annual Wisconsin road trip with a seismic 3-2, five set victory over Green Bay as one of the best upsets in NCAA Division I volleyball this season before falling in straight sets to Milwaukee the following day. Madison Ross toppled 1,000 career assists this season in the win over the Phoenix to move to eighth all-time in Oakland history.

With 263 kills on the year, Patti Cesarini continues to front a dominant offense for Oakland with Clarke Adams and Libby Gentile in tow with 154 and 146, respectively. AnnaBelle Tomei leads the Golden Grizzlies in assists on the year with 306 ahead of Ross who has 197 on the season.

Defensively, Jessica Riedl has planted 36 blocks on the year, seven of which solo to lead the team once more, as Anna Nie is not too far behind with 30. Libero Emily Wichmann has totaled 370 digs on the year ahead of Cesarini with 182.

Wichmann is second in the league in digs at her aforementioned mark of 370 with an average of 5.14/set while Cesarini still holds second in kills at 263 or 3.65/set.

OU is 277th in the NCAA RPI as of October 9.
