GREEN BAY, Wis. – Completing a two-game road swing, the Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's soccer team will square off with the Green Bay Phoenix in a matinee match at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12.
Suffering their first Horizon League defeat of the campaign their last time out, a 1-0 loss to the Cleveland State Vikings on October 8, the Golden Grizzlies will enter play at 2-7-2 (2-1-1). Green Bay, meanwhile, will bring a 5-2-4 (1-1-2) mark into play.
Oakland owns a 2-2 record in their four home matches thus far in 2022, but has yet to win away from the friendly confines of Rochester, posting an 0-5-2 mark when serving as the visiting team.
All-time series and last meeting
First clashing on August 31, 2008, the Golden Grizzlies and Phoenix have played a total of 11 times, with Oakland emerging victorious in 10 of those meetings.

Eric Pogue's Golden Grizzlies handled Green Bay, 3-1, the last time the two battled on October 13, 2021.

Picked by the conference's 10 head coaches to finish tied for eighth in the Horizon League Men's Soccer Preseason Poll, Green Bay's start has slightly exceeded expectations as Jeremy Bonomo's Phoenix currently reside in sixth in the standings with five points, two points behind Oakland.
For those who are unfamiliar or need a refresher, Horizon League men's soccer uses a points system in their standings, awarding three points to a team for a win and one for a tie.
Senior Andrew Paolucci has been Green Bay's top offensive threat this season, recording eight points (three goals, two assists). Freshman Keegan Walker is not far behind with six points (three goals), and redshirt freshman Luca Contestabile and senior Michael McDougall have both chipped in five.
