ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland Super Smash Bros. team will compete in the program's first-ever in-person event at Riptide Sept. 10-12 in Sandusky, Ohio.

Riptide is a three-day Super Smash Bros., Rivals of Aether, and Splatoon 2 tournament and convention held at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio. The event includes professional, amatuer, and collegiate players all competing together.

The weekend tournament will mark the first competition for the Smash squad of the 2021-22 campaign as the Rocket League and Overwatch teams started competition in the NACE Starleague a week ago. 

Last year In its inaugural season, the Smash Ultimate team ranked #10 in the nationwide power rankings.
