BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Oakland women's soccer team fell to Florida Atlantic University, 3-0, in it's season opener Thursday from the FAU Football Stadium.

The Owls (1-0) struck midway through the first half, netting the first goal of the game to go up 1-0 at the 25:46 mark.Â

Oakland headed into halftime down 1-0, as FAU recorded nine shots compared to just one for the Golden Grizzlies in the first 45 minutes of play.Â

FAU added two more goals in the second half (78:59, 84:24) to take the game 3-0.Â

Noëmi Stadelmann played all 90 minutes in goal for the Golden Grizzlies, recording
three saves on the day.

Macey Wierenga tallied one shot each for Oakland as Sabbagh recorded the lone shot on goal of the evening for the Golden Grizzlies.Â
