
ROCHESTER, Mich. – Transfer Aaliyah McQueen will join the Oakland women's basketball team announced Head Coach 
Jeff Tungate on Wednesday. McQueen comes to Oakland after playing one season at Illinois and will be immediately eligible for the 2021-22 season.
 
"Aaliyah is a great addition to our program. Coming from the Big 10, she knows how to compete at an extremely high level," said Tungate. "She is very good at getting to the rim, she rebounds exceptionally well, and is a great teammate.  I look forward to Aaliyah making an immediate impact on our program."

• Played in 19 games, averaging 9.6 minutes per contest
• Scored a career-high 8 points at Michigan State (2/4/21), including 2-for-2 shooting from three-point range
• Pulled down career-high rebounding totals with six boards at Northwestern (1/21/21) and vs. Penn State (1/28/21)

• Ranked as the No. 22 wing in the class of 2020 according to Prospects Nation
• Named Associated Press Division I Girls Basketball All-Michigan first team as a senior, and honorable mention as a junior
• Earned 2019 and 2020 All-Saginaw Valley South first team recognition
• Averaged 15.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.4 steals per game as a senior
• Led the 2019-20 Cavaliers to a 19-5 record en route to district and league championships
• Played AAU basketball for the Michigan Storm
