Mia Melnizki grinded out a three-set win over Sarah Lounsbury, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, at the No. 3 singles position to give Oakland a thrilling 4-3 won over IUPUI on Sunday to remain unbeaten in Horizon League play.
Nirva Patel set the stage with a hard-fought three-set win over Christina Stankovic, 5-7, 6-1, 7-5 at the No. 2 spot to draw the match even at 3-3.
Oakland entered singles play down 2-0 after dropping the doubles point and forfeiting at the No. 6 singles spot.
Yasmin Glazbrook cruised to a 6-1, 6-1, straight-set win over Gabrielle Ochalik at No. 1 followed by
Emma Hultqvist who downed Samantha Hayward in straight sets, 7-5, 6-0 at the No. 4 spot to tie the match at 2-2.
Joëlle Tabernal fell in a battle at the No. 4 position to Meghan Bernard, 7-5, 7-6 (7-4).
Oakland continues league play with a pair of home dual matches against Youngstown State beginning on Saturday, March 27 at 4:30 p.m.
