
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Gabe Lux went 3-for-4 recording his first career hits while
Cam Post also hit 3-for-4 with a double, walk and two runs scored as Oakland fell 18-5 to Northern Kentucky in the series finale at Bill Aker Baseball Complex on Sunday.
Seth Tucker also contributed for Oakland (7-8, 2-2 HL), putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding two RBI.
Tyler Trovinger went 1-for-4 with an RBI while
Drew Collins went 1-for-1 with an RBI in the ninth inning.
Jared Miller also added an RBI while
Brandon Heidal went 1-for-2 with a run scored.
Travis Densmore got the ball to start and took the loss.
Cooper Donlin was a bright spot for the Golden Grizzlies, coming out of the bullpen and throwing one scoreless inning, allowing no hits, with no walks and one strikeout.
The Golden Grizzlies were trailing 2-0 in the second inning when they first put a run on the board off an RBI single from Tucker, scoring
Brenton Phillips from third base.
Oakland's deficit grew to 17-1 before their offense got back on the scoreboard, cutting into the deficit in the sixth inning pushing across two runs which brought the score to 17-3 in favor of the Norse.
Oakland held the Norse (5-10, 3-5 HL) off the scoreboard before narrowing the gap to 17-4 in the seventh off an RBI groundout from Trovinger.
The Norse expanded their lead to 18-4 before the Oakland offense got back to work in the ninth off an RBI single from Collins, bringing the score to 18-5.
