ROCHESTER, Mich. -
Dylan Borczak knotted three first-half goals to complete the hat trick while adding an assist for a total of seven points to lead Oakland to a dominating 5-0 win over visiting Robert Morris to open the 2021 Horizon League season on Thursday night at the Grizz Dome. Noah Jensen also pulled off the hat trick in the assist department with three while Ville Ahola, Mikey Ketteman and Adam McAleenan each added a helper. Owen Smith scored his first collegiate goal followed by a tally from Charlie Braithwaite. Goalkeeper Finn Jurak picked up the shutout in his debut for the Golden Grizzlies.

Borczak got Oakland (1-0 HL) on the board early in the ninth as he took advantage of a bad touch from the Robert Morris (0-1 HL) defender stealing the ball and firing a low left-footed shot to the bottom left of the net past RMU keeper Grant Glorioso. He struck again in the 24th minute as he took Jensen's long cross from the right side and buried a header into the upper left 90. On his third goal in the 35th minute, Borczak controlled a long ball in from Ahola from the left side, took a touch and unleashed a laser shot into the upper left 90 giving Oakland a 3-0 lead at the half.

In the second half, Smith connected on a feed from Borczak and Jensen in the 48th minute. Braithwaite capped off the scoring taking a feed from Jensen and placing a well-struck header into the back of the net.

Overall, the Oakland out shot RMU 22-1 and held a 10-2 corner kick advantage.

Oakland travels to 2019 defending league champion UIC on Wed., Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. EST.
