
LOVES PARK, Ill. - The battle of the top two preseason teams lived up to its billing as
Noah Jensen scored a goal with an assist while
Dylan Borczak added his fourth goal of the season to lead Oakland to a 2-2 double-overtime draw at UIC on Wednesday afternoon.
Arthur Widiez also recorded his first collegiate assist on Borczak's goal.
After a scoreless first half, Borczak got Oakland (1-0-1 HL) on the board just 29 seconds in the second half with assists from Jensen and Widiez to give the Golden Grizzlies a 1-0 lead. UIC (1-0-1 HL) responded with the equalizer just over five minutes later in the 50th minute.
In the 68th minute, Jensen gave the Golden Grizzlies a 2-1 advantage after converting on a penalty kick. The lead would hold until the 83rd minute when UIC's Pau Mateo also connected on a penalty kick tying the game at 2-2.
Oakland returns home to the Grizz Dome to host new league member Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.
