ROCHESTER, Mich. -
Dylan Borczak scored two goals with an assist totaling five points while Charlie Braithwaite added the game-winning goal along with his first assist of the season to lead Oakland to a 3-1 Metro Series win over arch-rival Detroit Mercy on Sunday at the Grizz Dome. Ville Ahola, Dawsun Schrum and Noah Jensen also added assists as the Golden Grizzlies remain a perfect 5-0-2 all-time against the Titans since the inception of the Metro Series in 2014. In his first career start in an Oakland uniform, Nour Moaoui faced six shots making three saves to record his first win of the season.

In the 29th minute, Borczak worked a beautiful give-and-go with Ahola to give Oakland (3-3-1 HL) a 1-0 lead. He slid the ball over to Ahola just outside the top of the box and immediately continued his run taking the return feed and hitting a strike past Detroit Mercy Keeper Devin Mendez.

Despite playing a man down due to Kyle Bandyk booking two yellow cards, the Titans (1-4 HL) responded with he equalizer off a pair of headers from a corner kick feed to in the 35th minute.

In the 64th minute of the second half, Jensen moved the ball over to Borczak who in turn sent in a long high feed into the box in which Braithwaite was able to move under and connect on a header giving Oakland a 2-1 lead.

Oakland then added an insurance goal in the 71st minute as Braithwaite sent a long feed up to Schrum just past midfield. Schrum then hit Borczak in stride after he got behind the last two Titan defenders and beat Mendez with a low strike to the bottom right of the goal.

Oakland hits the road for a match at Wright State on Saturday, Mar. 6 at 1 p.m.
