OXFORD, Ohio – The Oakland men's swimming team closed out the final day of the Miami Last Chance Meet on a high note, recording 22 top three finishes Saturday from the Miami University Aquatic Center.
"As quickly as this meet came together I wasn't sure what to expect," Head Coach
Pete Hovland said. "When we explained to the team what we were looking for, we told them we had two goals: 1). Use this opportunity to qualify someone for NCAA's and 2). Pick our top 18 HL team members. Marko's time in the 200 backstroke (1:42.20) and possibly Christians 100 Breaststroke (52.98) accomplished the first goal and I think we saw enough over the three sessions to accomplish our second one as well. I am really proud of their enthusiasm and effort all week. Not to mention how they've handled themselves through Covid this entire time."
