MEN’S BASKETBALL NOTEBOOK: FEB. 11

PLAYER RECOGNITION
Micah Parrish notched his first double-double as a Golden Grizzly on Friday night against CSU (2/5). Jalen Moore added his team-leading eighth double-double of the 2020 campaign. To date, Moore is one of two players in NCAA Division I below 6-0 to have five or more double-doubles. 
PRO ALUMS
Keith Benson, a 2020 Hall of Honor inductee, recently signed with Levski Lukoil of the National Basketball League (NBL) in Bulgaria. Benson last played for Rytas Vilnius in the Lithuanian LKL, where he averaged 9.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in five appearances. The two-time Summit League Player of the Year (2010, '11) posted 17 points and nine rebounds for Rytas in its final game of the season. The center is currently in his 10th year of professional basketball. In the G-League alone, Benson has earned First Team honors, defensive team honors, and two All-Star team nominations. 

Miami Heat guard Kendrick Nunn has scored in double-figures in 10-straight games, including three games with 20 or more points. In February, Nunn is averaging 17.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. On the season, he is averaging 13.1 points on 48% shooting, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists.  Jalen Hayes is averaging 16.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists through 16 games for the Cheshire Phoenix in the British Basketball League. Most recently, he totaled a team-high 23 points and 13 rebounds in the Phoenix's 77-63 win over the Hemel Storm. The win advanced Cheshire to the second round of the BBL Trophy. 
WEEKEND RESULTS
GAME 1 - L, 80-72
Oakland fell to the hot shooting Cleveland State Vikings, 80-72, Friday night in the series opener. The Golden Grizzlies (8-13, 8-7 HL) had four players score in double-figures, led by Moore, who notched a double-double with 20 points and 11 assists. Parrish totaled 13 points along with a career-high 12 rebounds for his first double-double as a Golden Grizzly. Zion Young added 14 points while Oladapo chipped in as well with 13 points and nine rebounds. GAME 2 - L, 80-78
The Golden Grizzlies dropped an 80-78 contest to Cleveland State on Senior Day. Five scored in double figures for the Golden Grizzlies (8-15, 8-8 HL) in the Horizon League loss. Oladapo led the way with 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting and added eight rebounds, two steals, and one block. Young paced the OU guards with 18 points on four 3-pointers, while Parrish finished with 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting along with seven rebounds and three steals. Moore put together an all-around game with 12 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Trey Townsend compiled 12 points and five rebounds to round out Golden Grizzlies in double figures.

TOP HIGHLIGHTS VS. CLEVELAND STATE
Moore finishes strong at the basket for the three-point opportunity. Parrish collects one of his team-high seven offensive rebounds and turns it into a score.  Townsend hits a corner 3-pointer to minimize the OU deficit to three points late in the second half.
