ROCHESTER, Mich. – Men's soccer completed the sweep of the Horizon League Saturday, Nov. 13 after defeating Cleveland State 3-1 in the Horizon League Championship. With the win, they advance to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2014. 

The regular-season champions added the tournament championship to their resumè, winning both titles for the first time in seven years. 

The match got out to a thrilling start. Noah Jensen put a ball into the net just 41 seconds in, his seventh goal on the year. Owen Smith and Cameron Wilde assisted on the goal. Oakland held the 1-0 advantage for most of the first half, before the Vikings found the equalizer minutes before halftime on a strike from Pablo Kawecki. 

But, the tie score did not hold for very long. Sebastian Nuzzo found paydirt on a laser to the bottom right corner of the goal, just 34 seconds after Cleveland State's goal. Reid Sproat set him up for the score. After the go-ahead goal, Oakland held a 2-1 lead at halftime. Finn Jurak had five first-half saves, keeping the Vikings from evening the score. 

Oakland kept with the theme of quick strikes, as Dylan Borczak scored an insurance goal just two minutes into the second half. Borczak's seventh goal of the season gave Oakland a 3-1 advantage, which they held onto for the remainder of the match. Jurak added two second-half saves, squashing Cleveland State's comeback efforts.

Jurak ended the match with seven saves, putting his total saves for the tournament at a whopping 16. 

Four Golden Grizzlies were named to the All-Tournament team. Jensen was named tournament MVP, as he scored three goals in Oakland's two matches, and added an assist in the title game. Alongside Jensen on the All-Tournament team were Jurak, Adam McAleenan and Kieran Hayes.
