INDIANAPOLIS — Oakland's Kendra Zak, Alexa Sabbagh, and Noëmi Stadelmann were named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team as announced by the conference and voted on by the League's faculty athletics representatives on Tuesday.
"We are always proud and happy for our student-athletes when recognized for their academic and athletic achievements," Head Coach JuanPa said.
"Our program has an extremely high standard, and Alexa, Kendra, and Noëmi are great ambassadors of the team, the department, and Oakland University."
To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution (excluding summer school), have earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests.

Zak majors in operation management, with a strong 3.71 grade point average. The senior has started in all 18 games and has played an impressive 1,572 minutes. In Spring 2021, Earned United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America third-team honors, becoming the first to accomplish this feat in program history, and was named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Scholar All-Region team and the All-North Region, second team.

Majoring in nursing, Sabbagh holds an impressive 3.82 grade point average. The senior is ranked seventh in the league in goals (6) and fourth in shots on goal (23). Sabbagh has tallied six goals, three assists, 15 points, and 39 shots.

Goalkeeper, Stadelmann majors in exercise science and holds one of the top grade point averages on the team, with a 3.9. The senior has started in all 18 games played and totals 1,481 minutes. Stadelmann is ranked fourth in the league in shutouts per game (.235) and sixth in goals-against average (1.397).
This marks the first time since 2018 that Oakland women's soccer has had an athlete on the All-Academic team.
