#14 BGSU ENDS OAKLAND’S WIN STREAK

Recap-BGSU
ROCHESTER, Mich.
— The Golden Grizzly men's soccer program's five-match win streak came to an end against No. 14 Bowling Green, 3-0, on Tuesday night at the Oakland Soccer Field. Dawsun Schrum and Mohammad Jamal Issa tallied shots on goal in the loss, while goalkeeper Finn Jurak had one save.

The Falcons (10-3-2, 2-1-1MAC) struck early in the 6th minute of the non-conference finale, as Alberto Anaya found the back of the net off a feed from Nathan Masters. Just 11 minutes later, in the 17th minute, BGSU earned a penalty kick and took advantage of the opportunity, with Michael Montemurri scoring the goal to boost the Falcon lead to 2-0.

Oakland (8-6-2, 6-1-1HL) attempted to rally back with a shot on goal by Schrum at the 30-minute mark. However, Falcon goalkeeper Brendan Graves corralled the save to keep the Golden Grizzlies off the scoreboard. Abdi Faqi added an insurance goal for the Falcons in the 37th minute to make the score 3-0 in favor of the nationally-ranked visitors.

Both teams were limited to two shots and no goals in the second half of play. OU's best chance to score occurred in the 81st minute, as Jamal Issa rattled a shot on goal.

The Golden Grizzlies will return to action for Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 30, versus Milwaukee. The Horizon League matchup will commence at 7 p.m. from Oakland Soccer Field and air on ESPN+.
