DETROIT - Mikey Ketteman scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season and added an assist while
Reid Sproat scored his second career goal as Oakland played arch rival Detroit Mercy to a 2-2 double-overtime draw in Metro Series action on a rainy Saturday night at Titan Field.
Ville Ahola and
Dawsun Schrum also each added an assist on Ketteman's goal. The Golden Grizzlies remain undefeated at 5-0-3 against the Titans since the inception of the Metro Series in 2014.
After Detroit Mercy (2-3-4, 1-1-2 HL) took a 1-0 lead off a corner kick set piece, Sproat got Oakland (3-4-2, 2-1-1 HL) on the board as he got in behind the defense and placed Ketteman's feed into the back of the net for the equalizer in the 34th minute.
In the second half during the 57th minute, Ahola sent in a pass up to Schrum who in turn slotted a cross over the Ketteman who beat Titan keeper Jonathan Kilewer giving the Golden Grizzlies a 2-1 lead.
However, Detroit Mercy got the equalizer off a penalty kick in the 63rd minute. Neither team was able to get the golden goal in the overtime as each defense only allowed one offensive shot during both periods.
Oakland travels to Kalamazoo, Mich. for a non-conference match against Western Michigan on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 4 p.m.
