Pittsburg, Pa. -- Oakland women's soccer team defeated RMU in a 3-0 game Sunday afternoon to put them on an impressive six-game winning streak.
Oakland tallied two goals in the first half, giving them confidence going into the second.
Off of a corner at 25 minutes in, Sami Lopez played Sophie Wilsey, who settled the ball to the ground with composure before taking a shot around the goalie.
At 38 minutes, off another corner kick, Lopez crossed it to Brooke Honeycutt, who used a first-touch volley away from the goalie and off the post for her first goal of the season.
In the second half, the Golden Grizzlies added a third goal from a great dribble by Honeycutt, who passed the ball into Jessica Shears. The pass was deflected by Alexa Sabbagh, who finished it calmly into the far post. Sabbagh has earned six goals for the season and is ranked sixth in the Horizon League in goals.
Oakland remains unbeaten in conference play and will travel to NKU for a competitive game on Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.
