ROCHESTER, Mich. -
Head coach Eric Pogue announced the 2021 Oakland men's soccer schedule which includes 10 Horizon League matches highlighted by a Metro Series showdown against arch-rival Detroit Mercy (Feb. 28) in which the Golden Grizzlies are 4-0-2 against the Titans since the inception of the Metro Series in 2014. Oakland opens the season against new league member Robert Morris (Feb. 4) indoors at the Grizz Dome.

"We are ecstatic to be getting back on the field competing for wins and a Horizon League Championships!", said Pogue. We know a lot of work has been done by the staff at the NCAA, Horizon League, Oakland University and the Oakland University athletics department to make this season a reality and we are extremely appreciative of all their efforts. Also, a special thanks to our Assistant AD for Facilities, Andy Adrianse, for all of his hard work in making this possible."

"Our men, like everyone, have endured a lot over the past 10 months, so to get some semblance of normalcy back will be great for their mental, emotional and physical well-being," added Pogue. "We have a very talented team with great intangibles and a championship mindset and February 4th can't come soon enough to start this journey."

The Golden Grizzlies then travel to defending Horizon League regular season champion UIC (Feb. 10) followed by a home match against the second new league member Purdue Fort Wayne (Feb. 16).

Oakland then travels to Northern Kentucky (Feb. 22) and defending league tournament champion Wright State (Mar. 6) after the Metro Series showdown against Detroit Mercy.

The Golden Grizzlies return home to the Grizz Dome with a pair of matches against Milwaukee (Mar. 12) and Cleveland State (Mar. 18) before closing out the regular season with two road games at IUPUI (Mar. 30) and Green Bay (Apr. 5).
