OAKLAND'S ROCKET LEAGUE TEAM MAKES DEBUT IN CRL QUALIFIERS

RL CRL Qualifiers

ROCHESTER, Mich. – 
The Oakland University Esports Rocket League Team competed in the Collegiate Rocket League (CRL) Qualifiers Sunday, going 3-2 on the day.
 
The Golden Grizzlies were off to hot start, recording wins over Rutgers (2-0), Stony Brook (2-0), and Kennesaw State (2-0). Oakland dropped its last two matches to Michigan (3-1) and a close match against Kent State (2-1).

Participating Teams only need to qualify once but will have two chances to qualify for Regional Conference League play.
 
Both Eastern and Western Conferences will have 16 teams (32 total teams), with each competing in a round-robin format within their respective Conference, with $100,000 in scholastic awards up for grabs.
 
The CRL National Championship will take place in January 2021.
 
The Golden Grizzlies will compete in the second qualifier, Sunday, Sept. 27.
