DAYTON, Ohio - After trailing by 17, Oakland University's second half-rally cut the deficit to as little as two, but ultimately fell short at Wright State on Saturday, February 8, 83-71 at the Nutter Center. Senior forward

Oakland finished with four scorers in double figures. The Golden Grizzlies have at least three scorers in double figures in 13-straight outings.
Foul trouble became a factor for Oakland, as five different Golden Grizzlies finished with four or more fouls - sophomore guard Dan Oladapo fouled out. Senior forward Xavier Hill-Mais spent much of the first half on the bench with three personals.
Hill-Mais had a game-high 21 points, finishing 10-of-18 from the field. Sophomore guard Rashad Williams went a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line en route to his fifth-straight double figure night.
Sophomore guard Tray Maddox Jr. posted 15 points, going 6-of-8 for his highest total since putting up 18 against Detroit Mercy on December 28. Maddox Jr. dished out a team-high four assists. Sophomore forward Dan Oladapo rounded out Oakland's double-digit scorers with 10. Oladapo hauled in a team-best eight rebounds.
Bill Wampler led the Raiders with 20 points. Loudon Love had a game-high 11 boards to highlight his double-double night as he finished with 13 points before fouling out with just under five minutes to play.
The Golden Grizzlies engineered a 12-3 run heading into the under-12 media timeout. Oakland came out of the break shooting 57-percent and forcing the Raiders into eight turnovers in 17 possessions.
Hill-Mais brought Oakland into single digits just over three minutes into the second half for the first time since 28-19 at 7:50 to go in the first. Maddox Jr. tallied eight quick points in a run that saw Oakland trail by as little as four.
Tied at 18-18 with 11:11 to play in the opening half, WSU went on a 10-0 run for its first double-digit lead. Foul trouble first became an issue for Oakland as Hill-Mais picked up his third foul. The Raiders were able to push their advantage out to 17 before the half ended at 49-34.
Love opened with a quick eight points to lead the Golden Grizzlies 8-6. A triple from Gentry a few possessions later gave the Raiders a five point edge, 15-10. An Oakland 8-1 run though - capped by a freshman guard Blake Lampman three - gave the Golden Grizzlies their first lead of the contest.
Oladapo tallied four of Oakland's first six while hauling in four rebounds - three offensive - in the first three minutes of his 16th start of the season.
The Golden Grizzlies return home for the first of four-straight home contests on February 13 against Cleveland State. Oakland downed the Vikings in the season's first matchup, 68-55

- Dan Oladapo made his 16th start of the season and first since Jan. 5. Oladapo was joined by Brad Brechting, Xavier Hill-Mais, Tray Maddox Jr. and Rashad Williams. The combo went for 67 points - 94 percent of Oakland's final tally.
- The three-point streak was extended to 995 by Rashad Williams midway into the first half. The last time Oakland did not convert a shot from behind the arc was on Jan. 30, 1988 vs. Wayne State University. The Golden Grizzlies have hit a three-ball in 995-consecutive games, which is the fifth-longest streak in the NCAA.
- Rashad Williams - playing in just his fifth game as a Golden Grizzly - has knocked down multiple three-pointers in every outing - setting a career high first with seven against Detroit on Jan. 31 and eight at NKU on Feb. 6. The Detroit native ranks second all-time in Cleveland State single-season history with 91 three-pointers a year ago.
- Xavier Hill-Mais finished with 21 points - marking his 21st-straight outing with double-digit points and 24th this season. It was the 19th 20-plus point effort of his career.
- Brad Brechting's double-digit streak came to an end at six-straight games as the r-senior finished with three points. He hauled down seven rebounds in the contest.
- Oakland has had at least three scorers in double figures in 13-straight outings. The Golden Grizzlies have had five double-digit scorers three times this year.The last time the Golden Grizzlies had just one double-digit scorer was against No. 16/15 Michigan State on Dec. 14.
- Oakland is 63-22 in the month of February since 2009. In eight of those seasons, the Golden Grizzlies have won at least six games in February.
- Since Williams was granted his waiver, Oakland's scoring has gone up 5.8 ppg. For the first time this season, the Golden Grizzlies have scored 70 or more points in four-straight outings.
