
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Chloe Guingrich posted her third double-double of the season scoring a career-high 23 points off the bench on 10-of-13 shooting with 10 rebounds as Oakland shot a season-high 55.2 percent from the field with five players in double figures en route to a 86-73 road win at Youngstown State snapping a four-game skid.
Alona Blackwell and
Kahlaijah Dean each had 13 points while
Breanne Beatty and
Brianna Breedy added 11 and 10 points respectively.
Jalisha Terry also chipped in with nine points followed by
Kayla Luchenbach with seven points.
Oakland's (11-16, 6-10 HL) offense was hitting on all cylinders early as the Golden Grizzlies posted 30 points in the first quarter and despite cooling off in the second only shooting 33 percent, still held a 45-34 lead at the half.
In the second half, Oakland's offense caught fire once again shooting a blistering 8-for-12 (66.7%) and 3-for-4 (75%) from 3-point range in the third quarter while holding YSU (13-14, 6-10 HL) to only 22 percent from the field to move ahead for good. The Golden Grizzlies closed out the game in the fourth quarter going 11-for-19 (57.9%) to secure the team's second league road win of the season.
Defensively, Oakland forced 17 YSU turnovers which led to a distinctive 21-9 points of turnovers advantage.
